It can seem complicated to compare one sheet set to another, and many companies make it even more difficult to know that you’re comparing apples to apples, so to speak. Choosing the right material can be the hardest choice of all as it's a matter of personal preference.

Egyptian cotton is among the most expensive, but it is the softest and most durable material. Bamboo is another great option with many of the same characteristics as Egyptian cotton, including a smooth, silky, luxurious feel. However, it's also pricier than traditional cotton and other materials. Microfiber is one of the most affordable bedding textiles. Because it's polyester-based (and therefore synthetic), it's not ideal for anyone with chemical sensitivities.
